
I’m Kirsty Hooper, a family and local historian living in Warwickshire. This One Place Study grew out of my fascination with the tangible and intangible traces of other lives in the landscape around us.
By profession I’m a Hispanist and historian, currently writing a book about London’s 19th-century Spanish community.
What brings me joy: following footpaths, getting lost in old maps and newspapers, making music, stepping into new linguistic worlds (Galician, Spanish, Polish, Ukrainian), delving into Jungian psychology, lifting weights, cuddling cats (last two not always unrelated) …
